Click [here] for printer friendly version TowerMicro.net Email Setup (requires Outlook Express v5 or 6) Steps for setting up TowerMicro.net Email using Outlook Express: 1. Double click the Outlook Express icon on your desktop, or click the Start menu and select Outlook Express from the Programs menu, or click the Outlook Express icon on the Quick Launch toolbar (pictured below). The icon is the same for the Desktop icon and the Start menu icon if you have trouble finding it.
2. If this is the first time running Outlook Express you may have a window appear asking you to create a new account. If so skip to step 5, otherwise continue to the next step. 3. Click the Tools menu and select the Accounts option. The Internet Accounts window will appear. 4. Click the Add button and select Mail from the drop-down menu. The Internet Connection Wizard window will appear. 5. First Outlook Express will ask for your name. Enter you full name or nick name in the box and click the Next button to continue. 6. Next enter your email address (in the format "username@towermicro.net" where username is the name you selected on the TowerMicro.net application) in the box. Click the Next button to continue. 7. The next window will display "My incoming mail server is a POP3 server." Make sure POP3 is selected in the drop-down box. Type "mail.towermicro.net" without quotes in the box labeled "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, HTTP) server." Also type "mail.towermicro.net" without quotes in the box labeled"Outgoing mail (SMTP) server. Click the Next button to continue. 8. Next in the Account name box type the username you selected on the TowerMicro.net application (the first part of your email address before the @ symbol). Also enter the corresponding password in the box labeled Password. Click the Next button to continue. 9. Click the Finish button to return to the Internet Accounts window. If you have more than one email address follow the instructions below for all extra email accounts. 1A. If you have Windows XP, then you must install this update first http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/recommended/q331923/default.asp You will only need to do this once, and this must be done before proceeding any further. If you do not have Windows XP proceed to step 2A. 2A. Click the File menu, select the Identities option, then select Add New Identity.. The new identity window will appear. 3A. Enter the email users full name or nick name in the box and click the OK button to continue. 4A. When asked Do you want to switch to *username* now? Click Yes. 5A. Outlook Express will ask for your name. Enter your full name or nick name in the box and click the Next button to continue. 6A. Next enter your email address (in the format "username@towermicro.net" where username is the name you selected on the TowerMicro.net application) in the box. Click the Next button to continue. 7A. The next window will display "My incoming mail server is a POP3 server." Make sure POP3 is selected in the drop-down box. Type "mail.towermicro.net" without quotes in the box labeled "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, HTTP) server." Also type "mail.towermicro.net" without quotes in the box labeled"Outgoing mail (SMTP) server. Click the Next button to continue. 8A. Next in the Account name box type the username you selected on the TowerMicro.net application (the first part of your email address before the @ symbol). Also enter the corresponding password in the box labeled Password. Click the Next button to continue. 9A. Click the Finish button to return to the Internet Accounts window. Repeat steps 2A through 9A for any other extra email accounts you might need to setup
